LeafRx UX Case Study
AI-powered houseplant diagnosis app concept designed as part of the Google UX Design Certificate.
Brief Summary
Plant owners often struggle to identify what is wrong with their houseplants when symptoms appear. Discoloration, drooping leaves, and stunted growth can stem from many different issues, leaving users unsure how to diagnose problems or what action to take next.
LeafRx was designed for beginner to intermediate plant owners who want quick, approachable guidance without needing deep horticultural knowledge. Research showed that users often feel overwhelmed by plant terminology and prefer visual, guided support when troubleshooting care issues.
The objective of this project was to design a mobile experience that helps users confidently diagnose plant problems, understand likely causes, and receive actionable treatment recommendations in a way that feels accessible and trustworthy.
I designed an end-to-end mobile app concept that allows users to upload a plant photo or describe symptoms manually, receive AI-assisted diagnosis results, review personalized treatment guidance, and save care plans to a plant library for future reference.
